WEEK 6 - WATER

I was doing a bit of brainstorming this morning on this weeks theme {water}, and I kept thinking of pictures I have already taken that would fit the theme. I have beach pictures that would work. I have pictures of my kids that would be fun, but I've taken those shots, it would be cheating myself to just use past photos here and even recreating them wouldn't necessarily help me in my goal to increase my skills as a photographer.

So, I promise, I won't cheat. Any picture posted in any given 365 week will have been taken within that week. (Some days you just end up taking a day or two ahead, and I'm fine with that) HOWEVER, there is one water picture I can't help but share. I took it a few weeks back when my mom was visiting and it is a recent favorite of mine. Its screaming to be shared for this week's theme.

Photobucket

I'm not counting it as a day, but feel free to comment or share cc.

Well first of all it was taken with mom's little point and shoot so I had no control over settings. That being said it was intentionally taken this way (meaning I meant to just get the sillouette). When you have that bright sun infront facing the camera and the subjects infront of the light source you'll often get a sillouette picture. I've done it a few times in family pics too and its a fun kind of "artsy" family pic. I totally wish all my kids were in this pic b/c if they wre it would be on my wall in a second. In PS I just upped the contrast, which did make the sillouette darker and then I upped the blue saturation to make the color pop out a bit more. That is it.
